Homework, due May 21 (please post BEFORE Monday's class)

Please post a follow-up response. This must be done PRIOR to class on May 21, otherwise you are unprepared and will receive discipline points.

QUESTION: While exploring the SCRATCH programming application in class, identify something that you got "stuck" on - and then explain how you got "unstuck"!

In other words, what errors or bugs did you come across, and how did you debug them?

  1. When I was making my sprite talk it would not stop talking, so then i found out that it was on repeating until. Then i deleted it and it stopped.

  2. I realized that my sprite couldn't stop spinning until I found that it was repeating over and over again. I was forgot what to do if it couldn't stop spinning, I went on the main page and found out that it was on repeating, that is how I debugged my errors.

  3. I had the problem that I could not figure out was how to change the sprite to a different one.cFor example changing the Cat to a break dancer. Then I learned you go to control and then you put over the script "Change to Character two."

  8. While exploring the Scratch program, I thought I saved it to Dropbox, b ut later when I poened it, nothing was saved from the changes I made. Later on, in class we reviewed directions on how to save Scratch to Dropbox by pressing the File button, then our name file in dropbox.

  9. when I was using the Scratch program, I found a cool talking tab on the top left and tried it. it was kind of confusing so when i clicked on it started to talk, But the problem was that I didnt know how to stop it. the scripts tab was gone so i checked the sprite tab and clicked the sprite icon and it came back so i put the talking script away and it stopped.

  10. While working on Scratch in class, i had a bit of trouble figuring out how to make more than one sprite appear on the screen as well as a background. It worked individually, but not all together. So, i tried creating a sprite by going to a different location (Looks, Sound etc.) and clicking on the separate button made for selecting a background.

  11. While working i found that i couldn't get my sprite to stop moving away. I then duplicated the tabs and set the motion part to a negative number.

  12. When I was using Scratch in class I got stuck on the fact that I didnt understand how to change the sprite/costume. I finally found the script button or the command that makes it change the costume right there so I didnt have to do a big complex command to get the sprite to go away to make room for the new one.

  17. The thing that I had trouble with was that I didn't know how to erase an action like "rotate." Then I found out that if you put it back into the bar with all actions it goes away.
